Our freeze-dried cheese is made from aged gouda and is characterised by its crispy texture and intense taste. The freeze-drying process removes the water from the cheese without losing its aroma. This means it has a long shelf life and you can enjoy cheese in a completely different, crispy, light form.
It's best to store our cheese cubes cool and dry. If thus properly stored in the unopened original packaging, our cheese can be kept for a full 15 months!
Let us avoid unnecessary technical terms and keep it short: first, the cheese is cut into cubes, which are then frozen. The frozen pieces of cheese are then gently dried in a vacuum chamber by creating a negative pressure – a process which causes the frozen water to evaporate while retaining flavour and nutrients.
